ORGANIZERS

PechaKucha Asheville is volunteer-organized and sustained. These are the incredible people that make PechaKucha Nights happen!

Langley Ellmann

Langley wanted to be a teacher ever since she could line up stuffed animals and pretend to teach them cursive. After teaching for several years, she shifted to focus more on policy-level, strategic change in the education space, getting a Masters in Education Policy & Leadership. Her main policy work now consists of managing two little ones throughout each day, but she also does contract work for various education/nonprofit organizations and occasionally substitutes in Asheville City Schools.

NIC GOODMAN

Nic is one third of ninebar, a full-service design company founded and located in downtown Asheville, North Carolina. ninebar’s areas of focus are diverse and comprehensive: branding, graphic design, packaging design, marketing, content development, and web design and development.

Laura Gragtmans

Laura is a performer, writer, teacher, and current HR professional working in Employee Experience at Modera Wealth Management. She has 2 kids under the age of 4, a weepy disposition, an MFA from the Yale School of Drama, and has been facilitating and participating in live storytelling for 2 decades. She has a lot of faith in the art of gathering.

JAY HILL

Jay works a software developer and engineering leader. He is an organizer for PechaKucha Night Asheville, the Asheville Coders League, and Code With Asheville. He does his best to parent teenagers and enjoys trail running, dry humor and the awkward perfection of introversion.

MEGAN MARTELL

Megan is an educator and writer with experience in operations and administration, advocacy, strategy, and professional development. At the moment, her area of focus includes operating around, advocating for, strategizing with, and developing two little humans. In addition to the quest of stepping away from paid work to support her family, she believes in radical mending, running long and slow, and the importance of sharing and receiving each other’s stories and lived experiences.

Natalie Silva

Natalie arrives at PKN as an experienced educator, a curriculum designer, and logistics master; she loves the direct connection to community that the Education space enables. Natalie moved to Asheville in 2022, and is now the proud Director of Academic Programs at Odyssey School!
